I purchased this item for my Leatherman Surge multitool and have found it indispensable.
It is easily released from the tool using the integrated lock mechanism on the tool, spring tension from the pocket clip will keep in it place when releasing the lock for other tools on the MT. Neither of these accessories interfere with operation of the MT and are easily removed.
They feel thin but are constructed of very strong material.
I don't understand why these were not included with the original tools, I wouldn't not have these.
One last note: You can only use one at a time.

i agree with other reviewers the sheath the tool come with isnt the greates so i decided to buy the pocket clip for my wave. its works great and ive always carried and EDC pocket knife there so the tool in my pocket felt normal. the only complaint i had was that i did not recieve my lanyard ring!? i would have liked to have it when im out camping/hiking and such to attach it to a pack or have a bright string attached so if i drop it i ccan easyly find it. but i have no desire to send the item back and wait for another one to arive.
so check the package and make sure both items are in there.

These two items came with my Leatherman Charge TTI and I have found them to be quite useful. Generally, I carry my multi tool on my belt in its pouch but these mounting options enable me to readily switch to pocket carry. Both items firmly attach to the tool and can mount it securely. The quick release removes the hassle from alternating between carry modes. However, the charge is a large tool and I find clip carry in the pocket to be less than ideal.
Options are good, construction is good. I would recommend this to a friend and am glad that my Leatherman included them.

I wish the clip had come with my WAVE when I bought it. It installs easily as it clips on and allows me to carry my full size multi tool in my pocket with easy access.
I have been using this now for about 6 weeks every day and the clip has not come off, so I do not understand the other reviews. It is well made and looks attractive as well.
I did install the lanyard ring temporarilly but have not used it extensively, although I attached a small S-biner to it and hung it off my pack for a day with no problems.

Okay, first of all let me clear up one point that I was a bit confused about with this product. You can use either the clip OR the ring at one time. Not both. With that said, the belt clip is solid and fits snug on the tool. It does not have the play or wobble of clip that I got for my Kick. Also, as previously mentioned, the clip/ring come off with a press on the unlocking lever. This is a nice feature if you get into a situation where the clip starts hurting your hand when using the pliers. Overall, a great addition.
