Description of Leatherman 930402 Wave Deluxe Leather Sheath
Sheath was Originally Made for the Pre 2004 model Leatherman Wave tool this sheath works with all 4" and under tools such as the Pulse, Crunch, Blast, Fuse, Kick, PST, PST II. (The Wave Dimensions that fit in this sheath are 4" x 1" x 5/8") Will also work with new Waves and charge tools (only fit one way Narrow side down) but is a little tight snap closes fine with room. These sheaths are available for a limited time as they are no longer being manufactured for Leatherman Tool Group by their supplier. Customer Review: Much better than the original nylon case!!

First thing I did when I got my leather case, after I made sure that my Wave fit, was to rub it down thoroughly inside and out with mink oil. The leather is quite heavy and stiff as received, but the mink oil loosens it up and makes it more supple. It also waterproofs it.
Once that was done and I'd cleaned it up, it went straight to work and has been on my belt ever since. The Wave fits snugly, but is easy to get out when needed. Because the sheath is slightly tapered, the tool can only go in narrow end first. No problem. When it comes out, it's always oriented so I can snap the blades out quickly. The snap fastener took a few times to get used to, but I like the security it offers versus the Velcro in the original nylon sheath. Once the Velcro has lost its grip, the sheath isn't reliable for holding the tool in. I hate having to replace a whole sheath because the grip wore out, but maybe it was a good thing in this case. This leather sheath promises to last a lot, lot longer than the nylon one did. Because of where the belt loop is placed, the sheath rides a bit higher on my belt than the nylon sheath did. Didn't take long to adjust my reach and grip so I could deploy the tool easily. Not a problem, just an observation.
