Tools and Hardware Reviews of Leatherman 82040003A Squirt E4 Glacier BlueCustomer Review: A nice little tool for light electrical work Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this tool so that I would have a wire stripper close at hand. The wire stripper doesn't work all that well on old wiring with brittle insulation, and it would be nice to see a toothpick, but this is otherwise a great little tool. Having a two-sided (single and double-cut) file comes in handy, and the three included screwdrivers work well, provided the screw you're trying to loosen isn't over-torqued. It makes a near-perfect compact electronics tool-kit. Now discontinued, but worth picking up if you can find one on the cheap.
Customer Review: Great tool Summary: 4 Stars
This version of the E4 does not have the Phillips-head mini-screwdriver that the previous version included. It is, however, very well-equipped, and the scissors have been improved as to not break. Overall, very useful tool.
Customer Review: Works great but the enamel comes off over time Summary: 3 Stars
This is very useful and I do enjoy having it in my car, but am a bit disappointed the enamel eventually wares off.
Customer Review: Tweezer problem Summary: 2 Stars
I received this multi tool and it seemed very useful at first.
HOWEVER, there are tweezers that at least for me were a nightmare to remove and impossible to reinsert.
I could not find specific instructions on use of the tweezers on the enclosed papers.
The tweezers are held in a plastic piece with a slot for the tweezers that rotates out (and then in).
I wish I had never used the tweezers so I could keep this multi tool but since I cannot reinsert this sheet and tweezers I have to return this tool.
Customer Review: Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
Decided to replace my old P4 Squirt after many years of reliable service. I thought the new E4 would be more in line with the way I actually use my Leatherman. My very first cut with the knife blade was a piece of rubber tubing. As I pressed down to make the cut, the blade bent back past its lock, permanently deforming it and making the blade useless. I have abused my old P4 far worse with no ill effects. I begin to wonder if the quality is not as good as it used to be. I guess I'll be going back to my old P4 until I can decide what to do.
