The Exceptional Juice CS4 Pocket Multitool
The Juice CS4 from Leatherman is packed with excitement. Built on the same medium-sized chassis as the S2, it's protected by boldly colored anodized aluminum handles that open to reveal pliers, wire cutters and four screwdrivers, as well as a convenient saw and awl. Extremely useful serrated scissors are immediately available, along with a handy corkscrew, perfect for an emergency picnic on the slopes.
Key User Features
The integrated scissors are easily accessed with a nail nick, and the regular and hard-wire cutters are simple to lift out with their small notches. For easier removal of a cork, a notched assist is located at the end of the can/bottle opener. All you have to do is twist the corkscrew into a cork, then position the assist so the notch rests on the top edge of the bottle -- then lift the handles. It's as easy as opening a bottle of wine in your own kitchen.
The Juice CS4 features blades made of 100-percent high-grade stainless steel. Highly corrosion-resistant, these blades are extremely easy to maintain -- just clean them, dry them, and occasionally re-oil them for years of long life and great service.

Customer Review: Ideal compromise of size and function

For me, the Juice CS4 is the ideal balance between capability and size-for-convenience. It's a largish pocketknife that's really a multitool.
Its main disadvantages are common to multitools: the screwdrivers aren't as good as a round handle with a round shaft on center to the blade. But they aren't bad, and by folding the center handle joint to ninety degrees, you can get a convenient handle for turning a stiff screw. There's no plastic handle to provide electrical insulation. And the plier grips aren't smooth to the palm.
The three screwdivers cover a wide range of sizes well. The corkscrew is large enough to work reasonably well and the combination bottle opener/can opener/corkscrew assist does its job. (I also use that three-way tool for cutting plastic tape on boxes; it will do the job without the risk of cutting what's underneath.) The scissors are ideal for trimming a torn nail, a problem that has become more frequent with age. The saw is a coarse instrument, but it will work when you need it. The plier jaws grip well and the two wire cutter regions remain tightly aligned for clean shearing. The lanyard rings folds in so it won't catch on anything when it's not needed.
One minor gripe: the colored finish won't stand up to years of bouncing around in a pocket with keys, coins, etc. It hasn't scraped away altogether, but the color is scraped off around the edge.
This is my "pocketknife" of choice. As a piece of useful design, it's a very nice achievement. If you're looking at Swiss army knives, give this a look.
