Customer Review: Compact, Durable, Rugged, Lightweigth Multitool

The Leatherman Micra Multitool is an excellent tool to keep in your pocket for small tasks. I have been carrying the Micra for over ten years and have been very satisfied with its utility and durability. Keep in mind that this is a pocket sized multitool designed for smaller tasks; it is not intended for hardcore survival or big projects. If you use this tool for tasks that are beyond the capability of the tool then it will not perform well. For completing tasks that the Micra is designed you will be very satisfied in its usefulness.
The Leatherman Micra Multitool has the following components:
--Scissors - Always functions as designed and I have used this feature hundreds of time from cutting paracord to paper to duct tape and even clothes. The scissors have never failed me.
--Clip-point knife - Small knife but sharp and useful. The knife is easy and quick to sharpen.
--Tweezers - The tweezers work okay but not great. This is one aspect of the Micra that could use a bit of improvement to provide a better grasp.
--Nail file / cleaner - Surprisingly this is a feature that I have used more than I thought I would and it works great.
--Flat Phillips screwdriver - Works well for small type Phillips screws.
--Extra small screwdriver - Works well for very small screws such as toys that have the little screw for the battery cover. If the screw is in very tight you may have a hard time turning the Micra to loosen the screw. When this happens I open the Micra to get better leverage and this has always worked well.
--Medium screwdriver - Works fine.
--Bottle Opener - The bottle opener has always worked well.
--Ruler (inch / metric) - The ruler is okay but I have not had the need to utilize this feature often.
--Lanyard attachment - The lanyard works great and has not failed or come loose.
If I were to ever lose my Leatherman Micra Multitool I would be sure to immediately replace it with another Micra. It is small, rugged, durable, compact, lightweight, highly portable and very useful for its intended purpose. The Micra is 100% stainless steel. If you keep it in your pocket it will collect dust and dirt over time so a regular cleaning will be necessary. If you need a small multitool with pliers then I would recommend the Leatherman Squirt.
I highly recommend the Leatherman Micra Multitool.
